I run my fingers across the thick heavy fabric that covers my eyes and follow it around my head slowly, until I reach the knot. I find the end quickly and a rush of excitement expels through my body as I anticipate my reveal. “See” I yell in excitement as I rip off my blindfold. I look around the room, but there is no one there. I can’t help but feel a sense of Déjà vu. I take the situation in with a deep breath and attempt to breathe out slowly; but my disappointment somehow still shows.

A brand that breaks through clutter by it’s unique design, speaks directly to the people by allowing them to be inspired, create and vote on each events proceedings and also by being a platform in which other creative people can promote themselves on the night (at no cost) as long as their image and fork’s brand image are in sync.

Their slogan/single minded proposition is - Repercussion-less
“Repercussion-less
Don’t think, just do.
The only rule is the rule of excess.
We are the platform that you manipulate, to create your version of the perfect night out. Surfacing only by your thought and constructed by our actions – the story line is dependent on you. Our events are fluid, decided by a moment in time, a flicker of inspiration and the voice of the people”
The nights have all been “fork.ed”
Punters voted cheeseburgers to be thrown from the DJ box into the crowd, had huge cardboard cutouts of the famous “fork” characters, Krispy Kreme’s, dancing midgets and more.

There promotional efforts have gone beyond any other “event” brand. Speaking through street space with “graffiti-like” collages, bridges, ambient (handed out forks with marshmallows to drunk, hungry clubbers - brand awareness, promotion let the ethos of brand shine through), bouncers the list goes on.

Lastly here are a few of their recent event fliers - which speak for themselves (creative, targeted, breaks through clutter = AMAZE)

The club event “fork” - punters were able to vote via an online poll and 79% of people voted for sweet sweet sweet MacDonalds cheeseburgers straight into their gaping holes (aka mouths) from the DJ box …. Num num….” it was AH-maze-ing and so so looose - check out their group page - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=206946921191&ref=ts
i wish i was a better person, but I’m not! *&$*$*
Link below blog “Immaculately Flawed” to this video.
Flaws circumvent via perception, yet perception is reality – so flaws are reality. But perception is not defined therefore it is susceptible to change, that’s if we will it to. We are brought up in a society full of conceived norms, standards of rational/acceptable behavior. The further you deviate from this standard, the more “flawed” you become, unless of course your achievements offset your outlying dot. You then are no longer flawed, you are unique and your qualities that were once thought of as flaws are now strengths. Suddenly you find the standard deviation is slowly creeping its way to your end of the graph.
If perception is reality and perception can be altered by shifting the mindsets of those around you, through achievements. There is no doubt in my mind, that traits that are inherently called “flaws” via perception can be turned into strengths via perception. I believe that we are all born with a base personality, one which develops and transforms depending on the situations we encounter, molding us into the person we are to become. This REALLY scares me; although it is natural to fashion ourselves around society in order to co-exist, what happens to those people who are born with a “flawed” base personality.
I have come up with a theory for all those “flawed” people out there. Flaws make us outliers, they make us “more” individual, use this power – CREATE. Do what you do best and excel. Forget about those around you, because you know who you are – you know that flaws are perception and perception can be changed. By just being you and being good at you – making your mark, slowly changing the perceptions of those around you, those flaws suddenly become strengths. You become immaculately flawed.
We all have passions and desires or what I’d like to describe as a “calling”. Do what your good at and enjoy, forget where this leads you; because opportunities present themselves at the strangest of occasions. Just be certain and comfortable of who you are and what you stand for. Because once you convince yourself that your flaws are strengths you start to convince others. And that my friend is how you start a revolution.

This morning as I arose from my slumber and dragged myself to the kitchen – for the “essential breakfast”. I noticed two envelopes on the table, both addressed to me. The first one was an impulse ebay purchase, which I was thoroughly disappointed with. The second was a plain white envelope, with my details carefully scribed on it. I carelessly opened the envelope to discover a letter “not” addressed to me, but a friend of mine Tony. It was from Teenspirit, a program in which I work with “teens” with ranging disabilities. I don’t work with this organisation for the money, or the recognition. I work for Teenspirit for more selfish reasons.
Living in a society full of etiquettes and social constraints – I am forced to create a persona catered towards the “general” public. My super-ego (Freud – also read blog “My Proliferated Super-Ego”) and my ego (sorry about the psychology terms) are no longer on talking terms and this imbalance creates a feeling of oblivion. But EVERY time I work with these kids, I leave with a sense of rapture. I smile and for once in my life I mean it. There’s this twinkle in their eyes – that I rarely see among my group of friends and peers – its a sense of pureness and innocence – its something I wish I still had. I live vicariously through these kids.
This letter was simple in execution but its simplicity allowed for a much deeper reaction. I couldn’t help it – I burst into tears. A regular catch up with a good friend and the owner of the Glory (Tony Sage), a simple question – a quick answer and phone call and it was done. Two minutes of my time, created moments and memories that will last forever. I got the kids 10 tickets to the Glory game – nothing more and nothing less. A simple act with an ongoing reaction. The letter stated that “one of my kids couldn’t even eat dinner he was that excited”. I did that; I created that moment; that smile; that feeling.
It’s the butterfly effect – but my reward was far greater than anything anyone could give me. It was a realization of what I desired the most – the capability to be myself, in this disparaging society. It not only gave me purpose, it gave me desire and passion to break free of these social constraints; focus on me; and becoming more me (see blog no boundaries no constraints). I am in AWE of these kids and in their presence I am the happiest I have ever been.

This is it.
It is now.
Now has come.
My whole life I have strived to reach this standpoint, the crossroad into the future I build for myself. The decisions I make WILL determine who I become. People can dream – our minds are vast – our imagination is vivid. But dreams are fiction. I’ve read the book and its exquisite – I keep it in my left pocket. I’m too greedy to let this one go – that is; until the day I can return the book and proudly announce “non-fiction”.
